At just five years of age, Bruce was given his first ukulele lesson by his mother. Grown up with his older brother Jake Shimabukuro was a great advantage for Bruce to master lightning fast fingers and revolutionary playing techniques. Bruce views the ukulele as an "untapped source of music with unlimited potential. His ever expanding repertoire includes jazz, blues, funk, classical, bluegrass, folk, flamenco and rock.
