The Chordette app can send the chord fonts to other applications as text. Each CGDA chord is mapped to a specific key on the keyboard, so you can type. Either way its a lot easier than dealing with images to create a Tenor Banjo, Tenor Guitar, and Mandola chord chart or song sheet. It’s a favorite tool for teachers, music therapists, and musicians.<\/p>\n

Each version of the Chordette font uses the same chord sets and keyboard mappings. If you play multiple instruments, you can create a chord sheet for one, then use another Chordette font to transpose the song to another.<\/p>\n

For example, you can create a song for Mandola, then instantly transpose it for Mandolin and Ukulele Simply by changing fonts!<\/p>\n

What is the Chordette App?<\/h3>\n

The Chordette app is a companion to the CGDA fonts.\u00a0 It’s a chord library browser. It takes<\/p>\n

up very little screen real estate so you can run it side by side with other apps. It provides a handy interface for looking at chords in first and second position on the fret board. When used to create Tenor Banjo, Tenor Guitar, or Mandola chord charts,you can use the “Copy Chord” button to enter chords into the document. The Chordette app is available for both Mac and Windows.<\/p>\n
